If someone had an HIV test 3 1/2 months after risky behavior and it is negative are they in the clear?

no, they are not, it can take up to 7 years before signs show or you test positive, same with other std's . why would someone compromise their them self if they knew the behavior was risky?

They will still need to be tested at 6 months and at 12 months. It can take a while for the virus to multiple enough before tests can pick it up.

And no risky behavior inbetween

Actually the person could be infected with HVI and be test as soon as they think they got it and the results come out negative. But, it doesn't mean they didnt get it. HVI and be in your system for years before its even detected.

window period is 3 months, if u are negative u can go donate blood they also tested direct for the virus . Nat testing looks for hiv in your body.
