How Long Should One Wait/Stay For HiV Testing? Is ELISA Is Perfect Test For HIV If Used After Six Months?

If you have multiple sexual partners it's best if you get tested every 6 months. ELISA is the test used for detecting HIV antibodies. Antibodies are the first line of defense of the body in any infection. They are non-specific and specific for each virus/parasite/germ. ELISA detects the specific antibodies that your body produces to attack HIV. They are used to detect the infection. They do not protect you from the virus.
Regular testing is recommended because ELISA can come out negative in some cases even if you have the infection. There is a period of time in which the body doesn't produce those antibodies so ELISA has nothing to detect.
If ELISA comes out positive, to eliminate any mistakes, Western Blot is conducted. Western Blot is another test that confirms the infection. If ELISA is positive and Western Blot is negative, it is likely that you are not infected, but it requires taking ELISA again just to be sure.
Take care and use protection when having sexual intercourse.

First of all next time use a condom and get an AIDS test from you partner first. But go to you local hospital or clinic they cant divulge info and they usually have the most up to date testing. My ex slept around and the standard info back in the 80's was you are not clean for 10 years. Now its closer to six months I believe. I haven't had to deal with it for a long time but HIV can touch anyone. Even a monogamous spouse who has only had one partner....and that is why you have to be proactive and protect yourself, because as House says everybody lies.
Get an AIDS test from any prospective partner please.
