I am scared to do an Hiv test but I am planning on becoming a nurse and I think I need to do it.I am not?

the type to sleep around but my two exes were womanizers and my currently bf is ok but I need to get tested but at the same time I don't know how I wouldreact if I was positive and you can't say you can't contract the disease because you really never know? What would you do?

Get a test ASAP. If you are going to be a nurse we need to stress everyone to be tested once a year. I understand your fear of testing, but you owe it to yourself to know your status. IF you tested HIV+ there are great medications to keep you healthy. If you aren't you need to think about safety with your partners, you need to talk to them about testing. I always tell couple to get tested together before sex. It's not that you don't trust each other, it that you want the relationship to start with a clean slate and what better way then to test together.

Bite the bullet and do it. It's unlikely you will be HIV positive, but just think of the piece of mind knowing either way. There are brilliant treatments out there which mean you can live a normal quality of life and still work as a nurse if you want to.

You have to take responsibility for your health.

Don't worry, you'll be fine.
Think about it this way: right this second, you're either HIV positive or you're not. Taking the test is not going to change anything. Most likely, you will take the test and it will come back negative, BUT if it does come back positive at least you will KNOW and you will be able to discuss with your doctor what you should do. You have nothing to lose if you are negative, but you have awareness to gain if you are positive.

You're right though; even when you're pretty sure you don't have something, it can make you rEALly anxious when you're waiting for test results to come back. Just try to stay relaxed and don't let a something like this get in the way of you and your career!

Courage, my dear, courage.

It is completely normal to be scared. You have to be tested. Take comfort in knowing that most people are negative. I know that may sound harsh considering the number of people that are HIV positive. Have faith , love yourself and know that anything is possible.

one thing at a time
get tested
and your prb wont be anyway
and if you are not everyone dies from it

just do it. everyone needs to knwo their status

Get tested...............anybody can lie about STD and/or HIV status.......so go get tested and put your mind at ease. If you're afraid to have blood drawn, find a place that does the mouth swab. If you are positive, (which you probably arent) its better that you know in advance so you can get treated before the virus turns into full blown AIDS
