When did you last get an HIV test? |
I want to get one soon, but am so worried. I feel so alone with this problem, but I know that people get tested everyday. How'd it go? Were you nervous? I was tested October 2007 last time (due to a work issue). I went to my local health department and informed them I was there for my appointment to take an HIV test. i shot dope for 4 yrs so i go every 6 mo sure im nervous but as long as your straight and dont shoot up after people you arent high risk and shouldnt be that worried get it done sooner rather than later itll ease your mind when it comes back neg I was nervous at first but knowing your status is a good thing. Negative or not...If you are positive life still goes on and most newly HIV cases don't even have to take meds yet, because their body is still fighting off the virus..Sooner the better sweetie..take the test. It's easy :) i get checked yearly w/my yearly visit to my doc.......get it tested along w/a bunch of other bloodwork at the same time......wasn.t nervous cuz i highly doubted my exposure..... I got one done about 6 months ago because I had persistant swollen glands and poor immunity (both of which can be symptoms of HIV). I must say, even though my doctor was rather concerned, I wasn't all that worried because in most cases HIV can be controlled as a disease nowadays anyway- not that I want it in any way, shape or form, but I would rather be diagnosed with HIV then a lot of cancers (which have a much higher likelihood of killing you in the near future). 13, first off, find you someone that you can confide in. Ask them to go with you for the test. Educate yourself before the test. Get some counseling BEFORE you go. |
