If HIV test is conducted after 3 years of suspected infection, is it valid? |
About 3 years ago I let myself had a risky sexual intercourse, and i had it again with the same person in April 2005. I have been sexually inactive ever since. Two weeks ago, I had HIV test and it was negative. Is it valid? or i should have another test later? It should be valid, but if you want to be sure, have another one done, in a different method if possible. If you had a tissue test (cheek swipe) done, then do a blood test this time, or vice versa. Yes, i should be valid. Or you can do the second test to make sure. pretty sure you are in the clear but stop sleeping with this person if you are that worried about it and still get tested at least once a year for your own safety |
