I tested NEGATIVE for the hiv test durung pregnancy.......my daughter is now 1. would we know if she has it? |
how long does it take to become active? once infected? i am just scared of this disease...... thank you. If you tested negative during your prenatal screening and were not exposed a few months prior to the test, or during your pregnancy.....your child is fine. Children who are infected with HIV at birth often have their growth impaired and can have severe GI/feeding issues. It would be obvious that the child was ill. If u were tested negative then your daughter has to be negative. If there was concern that you could have it, they would test the baby in the hospital at birth. Unless you had intercourse with someone that is HIV positive while you were pregnant, and after you tested negative, you have no reasons to worry. It can take as long as 7-10 years to become active, and many more to turn from HIV to AIDS. |
