10 week HIV test, How conclusive is it that i dont have it? |
checked yesterday, they said 90% chance you dont have it, gonna wait til the 3 month, and then 6 month mark to get tested again...is it still pretty accurate that i dont have it? None of the diagnostic tests used are FDA approved to diagnose infection with HIV. These tests do not detect actual virus but antibodies thought to be specific to HIV. If you read the inserts, they CLEARLY state they arent to be used to conclude anything. For all you others that mark my answer bad over your ignorance, I suggest you READ the inserts. Most people take about two or three months to develop HIV antibodies, so unfortunately your not safe yet. Almost everyone infected has antibodies six months after exposure, so I'd play it safe until then. Its only accurate 100% if you have not had any sexual contact at all since the first test. If you are continuing to have sexual contact there is a continuing risk of infection. |
