Hiv test period?

I'm confused about window period if I take tested today how far does it go back . if i was exposed

HIV testing can go all the way back. They use to have a 3 month window where there were false negatives. This is because your bodies immune response to the virus wasn't big enough to detect yet.

However most places use some sort of PCR or immunoassay method to detect the virus now which are more sensitve than the conventional methods

. I believe there is only a two week window now in which if you were exposed to the virus the test may still not pick it up.

The test period goes back three months. So if you tested today February 27th, the test would tell you your HIV status as of November 27th 2007.

I tell people when I test them for HIV IF you have not had unprotected sex since the November date this would be a correct and true test result. IF you still were having unprotected sex and you tested today I would tell you for the next three months to use condoms every time you had sex and then retest on or around May 27th.

HIV usually show up 90% of the time in the first 30 days, 94-96% after 60 days and 99.6% after 90 days (there is a .o4% chance of error)

HOpefully this will give you a better understanding of the window peroid.
