Which HIV test is better and more accurate? Blood Test or Saliva (spit test), Swab test? Studies were recently done comparing the accuracy of blood based ELISA and Western Blot tests witht he new saliva based tests, such as the OraQuick HIV test, and they showed that the saliva test was about 98% sensitive and 98% specific for HIV, which is jsut about as good as the blood based tests, that are 99% sensitive and 99% specific. Blood the blood test is more accurate on this . most doctores do both as well urane as well my opion? |
