My sister is goin to school to become a RN, well she whent and got a hiv test done and found out that she is? |
hiv poistive. Can she still become rn? yes. her medical status is her personal business. she doesn't have a legal right to disclose that info to anyone. not even an employer. at least in WA anyway. The answer is yes!!! It is strictly confidential in terms of the "Hippa" laws. Medical information is not allowed to be passed to others without the consent of the patient. Also, nursing school will not ask your sister about that information anyway. Do not worry about your sister not being able to per sue a career in nursing if that is what she really wants to do. AIDS is no longer a death sentence anymore. Things have changed. There are to many anti-viral medications available. With treatment, good diet, and rest, your sister can live a very productive life. God bless, and good luck to you both. |
