14 week HIV test conclusive?

havent had sex since my exposure, not sure if the person is negative or not. It was over 14 weeks when I had the test. Am I in the clear?

ive talked to her thousands of times afterwards, she always tells me she is negative, and she even let me meet her former boyfriend, who she broke up with for a few months while he was in marine bootcamp, he was wearing his uniform, not sure they would let him in if he had HIV, or wouldve discharged him in a second.

Listen the only way to know for SURE about whether your negative or not is like this....... If you have not had sex with anyone since that person then 3 months from the date that you slept with her you get your test done. If it is then negative then that's the answer. You have already waited the 3 months so if it is negative then your negative.

When you get a test done it is only reading from the date you were born up to 3 months prior to the test date. So if you have sex today then go get tested tomorrow it is not going to show whether or not you have HIV and it may not show up in your blood test for 3 months.

The absolute best way to not be infected with HIV is abstinence. If that is not possible then use a latex condom and a water based lubricant like KY. You can never be too safe. Hope this helps

have test redone in 6 months

as far as ive heard it can take years please ask a doctor it is free to call and ask advice like that

If you used the modern lastest generation tests, then it's more then conclusive. These will show a + result at 4-6 weeks in 98% of people and 99% at 8 weeks. In fact most doctors tell their patients that after 6 weeks, you're all but out of the woods since the newest tests are so sensative.

You need to contact the other person to see if they tested if not go every 6 months .This disease can take as long as 10 years to show up.For all who read this answer there is protection out there why are yall trusting everyone who says they are negative the proof is on paper in black and white.Trust noone I dont care who your with they will respect you more if you do.They make condoms for a reason use them. The feeling is no different just think had you protected yourself you would not be asking this question. My apology for being a little rough but I have lost numerous friends to this disease not only from sex but also sharing needles.Had I knew they were doing this I wouldve tried to get them to stop but the damage is done and all I can do now is remember the good times we all had.Good luck to you.

Travis,
Unless you know exactly what you are being tested for, there's no sense worrying... Do yourself a favor and look at this DVD....

Was your last test negative?

Regardless of the test results, you will need to be tested every 3 months for 1 year.

Use condoms. You need to contact the other person and find out what their test results were. You have a legal right to this. Do NOT take the other person's word for it. Ask to see the lab report. It's better that it comes from the other person's physican so the lab report can be translated in what you understand.

Medicalese is confusing.

Sad to say no you aren't! HIV is very illusive in the human body, taking sometimes 6 months and longer to incubate in the body. It hides behind helper Tcells, changes the structure of the cell, which in turn fools the other Helper T cells, because it can't tell there is a problem. Eventuall, cells mutate into more HIV cells. When an HIV test is done, they acutually test the amout of white or helper T cell count, and the lower they are, the more likely there is a problem. There are different kinds of tests that can be done as well, to confirm or deny HIV in your system. They cost more as well. Keep up on it, and please do not have sexual contact with anyone until you are sure, because HIV is serious, and charges can be brought againt you if you transmit. You have to tell everyone the possiblity, and there are services available to assist you with this process, if it is too difficult for you to tell people. Be safe and not sorry.
