Embarrassed To Get An HIV Test? |
The testing is confidential but I have to walk up to the desk in the clinic infront of people and tell the lady that I want to get tested and she then has to paige someone. This I am so embarrased to do. What should I do, I got tested a year ago, have been celibate since then, but I just want to make sure I am o.k. I am a worry freak, and plus I want to get it in wiritng. I requested the last test inside of my doctor's office, so it was not so bad. I just don't want people to think I am nasty, you know that is what many people think when you get tested. Go see a different doctor who can be discreet. You'll just feel better. Nobody likes to do it, but it needs to be done. Suck it up and go get yourself tested. You shouldn't be embarrased. The fact that you are getting a HIV test, which many people don't do, means that you care about your health. Who cares what other people think about you, what is more important is the fact that you are taking care of yourself. don't be embarrassed. it's better than not getting tested and possibly spreading it. i think it's great that you are getting tested and who cares what other people think. DON'T EVER BE SHAMED!!! SHOUT IT OUT LOUD I AM HERE TO GET A HIV TEST...DAMN THE PEOPLE AROUND YOU!!!! THERE IS NEVER ANY SHAME IT KEEPING YOURSELF HEALTHY!!!! ITS A LOT CHEAPER THAN BUYING A CASKET..RIGHT....BUT IF YOUR STILL SHAMED GO DONATE BLOOD AT YOUR LOCAL BLOOD BANK THEY AUTOMATICALLY TEST THE BLOOD PLUS YOU WILL SAVE A LIFE AND ITS FREE!!! nothing /to be /embarrassed/ about/ she /does not/ shout /your /name out/ and /remember/ they /are there/ for /the/ same test/just /goes/ to show/ you accept /responsibility /for /your body Yes don't be embarrassed, the testing is for your safety and there's no price on your health. research an aids testing clinic in your area. when you get there the people are sweet and discreet. they are there to help people save their own lives. everyone who will be there will be in there for the same reason as you. making sure your health is clear is never anything to be ashamed of. and you will know that everyone in that room has had sex. some people get tested several times a year. and even if you had an aids test just a year ago and haven't had sex since then, they will tell you take the first test for peice of mind, take the second one six months later, because it can take that long for it to come up in your system. just relax we are all human and we all make mistakes. i am proud of your decision to want to know. and wanting to protect your body and your future partner. so be brave hold your head high and get that test It cant be as embarrising as having hiv belive me i know plus if you tested- a year ago chance are ou are still - dont worry about what other people think. this is your health and its your life. i understand being a little embarrassed but its nothing to fret over. if only more people got tested hiv could be nipped in the bud. You鈥檙e not nasty because you get an HIV test. It鈥檚 time to grow up because if you ever got HIV or gave it to someone the worry of getting the test would be nothing. I know because someone very close to me died from aids and its nothing you ever want to see happen. There is a cure for HIV its being tested and not spreading it around, but because embarrassment many don't. You are doing the right thing by getting tested. Embarrassed? Dont be ! You are doing what other people are afraid to do. . . . . . You should be proud. |
