Should HIV test be conducted mandatory by bride and groom before marriage?

This has become a very big problem in the country..
Many men and women are cheating each other!!
HIV affected people marry a normal person and after a year or 2 only the normal person cometo know about this! Then they will be having 1 or 2 kids also!!
Even many people committed suicide on knowing this!
Even this has been discussed in many television channel programmes!

Just feel free to tell your opinion regarding this!!!

i really think that u should get tested before u get married it just sooths thing over and calms things if ur partner had HIV and u married thme and had kids u just affected ur self and ur kids and just makd things worse for every one but there is always adoption there are millions of kids who need homes so u could always work around it if u really loved the pperson and didnt want to break it of because of it but all people are the same u shouldnt judge the person because of it they are still the same person on the inside and the same person u fell in love with

No, medical tests should be voluntary. This is a free country.

Hell yes, these days people are being WAY to frivolous with sex, you think the sixties were bad, these days are horrible. People have no shame.

I never used to think this, but cosidering the amount of people that have it and spread it, I'm beginning to think maybe it SHOULD be mandatory testing. I do know the last two times I got pregnant I got tested for HIV. They said it's "standard" testing, so why not do "standard" testing for marriage license? I don't like the government telling me what I can and can't do, but this could be for the safety of SO many people!

yes

YES I am all for it because I will never get married

No I don't because it's a freedom of choice.

Here in California the Blood Test before Marriage is mandatory, if something shows up they won't give you a license to Marry.

Yes, when i get married me and the groom will be getting tested. I've been with my man for sometime now we have a baby 10mos. but who knows what he might do behind my back from now until my wedding day. Which by the way has no set date.

they should so they know before they have kids or spread it to there partner.

i think hiv tests should be conducted before marriage b/c if one of them has it it just is'nt fair that the other one to get it b/c the other person did not say anything or just didnt know.

no it should be personal choice after all we have free will we shouldn't half to do anything mandatory

ya i think b4 having married this hiv test must be done .... coz u dont know whether they had protected sex b4 or not ...... atleast it ll help 2 saves d others life

I think it should be something the two should tell each other. Marriage is a bond of trust.

its up to the couple some couples really need to but i know with my husband and i didnt get tested b/c we didnt go around like that. and we are fine and happy, what i really dont get is that a lot of these people answering would be having sex even b/f they are married so what difference would it make if you already had sex u probably already got it

Make it a law! Whats the big problem?Dont be selfish! I believe if you really love the intended spouse then you should be truthful from the git go!Why make so many people sick along the way! The test is non invasive, so do it and save a life or two!

Yes it should and if you're positive and you don't act in a responsible way to protect the rest of the public you should be lock away..

No it is an invasive test as in the physical part and the personal privacy and should not be used. It was used for a short time in Illinois and a couple sued and got it stopped. Now you don't even get the blood test for Rh factor any more. They found out in Illinois the HIV tests were too expensive and took too long to get results. As to an infected person marrying without telling his or her partner they have it : that goes into a personal problem between them. It is a case of basing a marriage on a lie.

Shame on you Airtom. HIV does not discriminate white or black can get it. and I think it should be done before two people start to have sex. What I mean at the beginning of a relationship.

I think that this needs to be a factor for more people when they are deciding to become sexually intimate with someone. The only way that you should wait until you get married to find this out is if you are waiting to have sex until your wedding night.

If singles started requiring a STD test before having sex, the spreading of these diseases would stop.

I think that it should be mandatory.

No medical is your own body..its your business not the courts

In the old days blood tests were required before marriage..I dont know why they stopped but I think its a great idea to reinstate this practice for both parties involved. Its a skerry thing to know but also a good thing.
