Its been 60 days and i am still testing negative on the antibody test , took a western blot and came hiv neg? |
its been 60 days now and i tested negative on the standard hiv antibody test. i also took the western blot test and came out negative on that too. Are there any chances that i might still be hiv positive after theses tests. They did say i had a serious GU Infection. i have been having headaches and my lymph nodes have been swollen for about a month now. i have wet coughs which hurt my chest body back and nipple pains i am always and my tounge has white coating on it. i have been on antibiotics for about a month now. could all these be symptoms of the Gu infection or should i still still be worried about Hiv i also get extremlydehydrated some days but not regular like 3 or 4 days in a week and those days i pee a lot like 15 minutes after every drink. are these normal for GU Infections I don't presently work in HIV, but have in the past ( 1995 ). Although alot has changed since I worked in HIV, I don't believe that the testing has. If you are negative on the ELISA & especially Western Blot, which tests for the specific bands, then you are fine. It is scary to think that you might have HIV & to go through what you are going through with no definitive diagnosis, but I don't believe you have HIV. You did not mention your risk factors, so if you are in the high risk category, ...I suggest ( to lower your your anxiety & stress & ofcourse your exposure ) reduce the risk factors in what is in your control. This way, if you need to be tested for HIV again, ...it won't be so stressful. Hope this helps :) It's always good to get checked again, it will give you piece of mind. you sound pretty healthy Maybe you should be tested for mono rather then HIV. Mono often affects the lymph nodes and you will experience flu like symptoms. It actually takes at least two months of treatment with antibiotics to clear this infection. In the mean time you will feel horrible until your body's own immune system is able to rid itself of this disease. Keep on taking the test bcuz it took 1 yr. 4 my test 2 come back positive. I was in denial the whole time, thinking that maybe I didn't have it, when in all reality I knew that I did. I will pray that u don't have it, bcuz it is a really bad feeling to know that u r going 2 die sooner than u thought. It will change thing drastically in ur life if it does come back pos. I used to think b4 I knew that NOT knowing was the best, but I think differently now, bcuz at least when u know u move ur *** & do a lot o f things that u normelly might not have done or never have done or not have done right now. 4 me when I found out I got up off of my a** and started doing things that I always wanted 2 do but didn't. So my best advice 2 u is 2 keep on praying & keep on testing, & GOOD LUCK & GOD BLESS |
