How Long Should I Wait To Get HIV test?

ABOUT 3 WEEKS AGO I GOT UNPROTECTED ORAL SEX FROM A FEMALE, I EXPERIENCED NO SIGNS OR SYMPTOMS HOWEVER I HAVE THIS SWOLLEN LYMPH NODE BEHIND MY RIGHT EAR, HAVENT HAD A FEVER OR COLD OR SWOLLEN GLANDS AS OF YET BUT IM FREAKIN OUT, IS IT POSSIBLE TO GET SWOLLEN LYMPH NODES FROM HPV?, OR FROM HAVING A HERNIA?, HOW LONG SHOULD I WAIT TO GET HIV TESTED TO BE SURE?

Truly, I doubt that your lymph nodes are swollen from the oral sex. The receiver of this activity is at much more risk than the giver. There is not a great risk of HIV for you.
But see a doctor anyway to check out your swollen node; you could have some other kind of infection.

ASAP !!

A swollen lymph node is a sign that your body is fighting some sort of infection. Go to your doctor and get checked out... it could be something simple like an ear infection, strep throat, or it could be mononucleosis, and in some rare cases cancer - lymphoma or leukemia. While your in the doctors office about this swollen lymph node ask them for an HIV test to put all your worries to rest.

Hope this helps. :-)

It's not likely that you'd have lymphadenopathy from HIV due to oral sex 3 weeks ago. However, there are several other STDs that have an incubation in the 10-21 day time window. (And of course, many other infectious diseases that can cause the swollen glands.)

Schedule a visit with your PCP. STD screening is routine, and won't cause anyone to bat an eyelash. Your doctor can tell you how soon you can be tested for HIV--and how often to re-test before you're "in the clear." In the meantime, s/he can rule out other diseases.

You wouldn't be exhibiting symptoms of AIDS/HIV exposure so quickly. However, anytime you're concerned about possible exposure, you should go get tested for your own peace of mind.

Swollen lymph nodes typically indicate an infection of some sort. See your doctor.
