Urine test HIV antibodies and pregnancy?

I am pregnant and i went to the dr.yesterday had a urine test done and they forgot to give me my lab slip before i left so i got it today and it had an x in the square next to HIV antibodies. does this mean i have HIV. is that all they are testing for. im so confused please help. this is my firs time preg. so i dont really know how this goes. thanks

You need to call them tomorrow. But, most likely they are TESTING you for HIV antibodies, not showing you the results.

If they did not take you into the quiet room alone and talk to you, then you do not have HIV.

Most drs.test all pregnant women for the hiv virus dont freak.

it could just mean that they tested for hiv antibodies. you need to get the lap report back and see if it turns out "reactive" which is what it will usually say if it detects something

Most women get tested for HIV when they are pregnant. The "x" in your box is probably just a mark to show what results they need. Getting all of these tests done can be stressful and confusing for anyone. Try not to worry too much. If you had it, they would definitely make it a point to counsel you about it and talk to you about your options.

Be aware that the first test (ELISA) can give false positives if you have infection. They then do a confirmatory test. So, don't panic if you have to have a retest.
