HIV antibody test? |
I got tested for HIV in February using the rapid test (20 mins.) the test was a swab test and i tested positive for anitbodies, at the end of March i flollowed up with a blood test for HIV and tested negative. what does this mean? should I get tested again? every 6 months you should get tested if you had a positive response to an antibody test. If you have antibodies resent it means ypu have been exposed to the virus. Its a tricky lil virus man that can hide in your white cells by confusing them for up to 10 years b4 detection occurs. This isnot a virus you wanna **** with. Take proper precausions, use a condom with everyone until your family Dr. gives you the clear. No matter what they say, they home kits are not all that reliable, so dont sweat too much just take regular tests at your family Dr. and keep it covered uo for a while. do it again to find out Maybe you should. To get a 3rd opinion. 2 out of three should tell you but it is wise to strap up when you're doing your thing. test again with the blood test. if you have been out of the US (esp in Africa) maybe ask to be tested for HIV2 (most tests in US are for HIV1.
