Following an HIV test, is there an investigation? |
I'm doing some research and I will be heading to a clinic soon to find out some more information, but I thought I'd come here and ask around first! If you ever have any type of STD then the people at the clinic make you fill out a form asking you names of people you slept with so that they can be mailed out a reminder to go to clinic. Also they send it to the county general and they keep tabs of this sort of thing. With Aids it is more serious. If they can prove that you knew you had aids and continued to sleep around and pass it along, you can and will be charged with a crime. Your not, by law required to tell, but doctors urge you too because when a patient is diagnosed with hiv doctors must ask and contact the individuals who you've had risk activities with, but its not covered by law that you have to tell your doctor, itsw just doctors must ask. It's a myth. Yes, the do ask you the names and contact info of your sexual artners. This is voluntary. However, they will report your name and address to the CDC. though they won't tell you about this. |
