Men: Would you be offended if your lady friend was to ask you to get a HIV test done? |
I suggested to a guy I have been sleeping with, to get an HIV test. We were having unprotected sex with eachother for over a month. I havent been with anyone else and I assume he hadnt been with anyone.(At least that's what he told me) Well, he got offended and said, he wasnt going to see me for a while. Why stop seeing me? Why get offended? Sex can be extremely risky, and many women and men insist on seeing papers, like, the proof that their partners are STD free. Knowing someone for a month and taking their word for it isn't good judgment. If he was intelligent, he wouldn't be offended-- he would know that you're being responsible. maybe he thought you didnt trust him maybe he wasn't offened but hurt by what you said in his position i think i would of been hurt and wondered why you had asked me to get tested after having sex with me for a month unprotected...if you do think you may have caught anything you should get tested at your local clinic as soon as possible unprotected sex is never a good idea unless you trust the other person completly In today's world it's a totally legitimate question. He shouldn't be offended. He probably stopped seeing you because he thinks you don't trust him. My father always told me trust- but verify. if a girl asked me before, and they have, i would not get offended. However i did break up with a girl because asked me after months of seeing each other. She thought i was sleeping with one of my female roommate and i found it insulting He got offended because he's a jerk. Your request was a legitimate one and actually, you should've asked even before you got intimate with him. In today's world, many people who have STD doesn't know it and getting tested is a good way to know if treatment is required so that the spread of diseases can stop. He's definitively not responsible nor mature enough to be with you so I'd consider dumping him. its your right honey....forget about him if he doesn't care for you. Off course not, it is not a matter of trust but your life. |

Usually... if i was you to reassure yourself pop back to the gp's if you have been exposed to bodily fluids which you think may have hiv and get another blood test done for peace of mine, hope all works ... I've been in exactly the same situation as you. My ex husband was unfaithful for a year before I found out, and I was scared as hell to get tested, but I had to do so for the sake of my new bo... you needn't to hurry, because if the virus get into your body, it needs time first to survive itself throught immune system, so i think you need to wait. once, such accident happened just on... I personally think that is a wonderful idea. I am so sick of people spreading disease and claiming they didn't know when all you have to do is take a five minute test and give your permission.... What a relief! Now, plese, be sure to take precautions. ABSTAINing is best. Think about what a close call that could have been and enjoy LIFE! ... |
