i had unprotected sex with a man 1.5 years ago.i went for hiv test after 3 months,6 months,11 months. it was normal. should i go for another one also? i have also brown rashes on my tongue. i didn't get any fever or vomiting in this period. 3 months is usually a sufficiently long period for signs of HIV to show up in tests. You don't need to do more tests than you've already done. However, it is safe to do tests for other possible infections, such as Hepatitis B, or other sexually transmitted disease, if you really want to be sure. HIV will most times show up at 3 months, and will almost definitely show up at 6 months and would 100% showed up at 11 months, so it doesn't seem remotely likely that HIV is causing your problems. If you only had unprotected sex once, your risk of contracting HIV is actually very low (0.1% for vaginal sex, about 2% for anal sex), so you have been worrying yourself needlessly. Even if you did have HIV, its unlikely that after 18 months (which is generally part of the latent period) you would be suffering from an oppurtunistic infection. Pain Relief Your safe by now, but bet your thinking twice about protection |
