Will your doctor let you know your hiv test results if it is positive?its been 3 weeks why has he not calld me

i am pregnant and my doctor ordered test for everything including hiv . it has been 3 weeks and know one has giving me any reults.the lab said he will get all my results in 3 days

You should have had a check up 2 weeks after the bloods were done, to discuss the results of your blood tests, that is what normaly happens, you must have slip through the net, hiv test should not take more than a day or so to do. You probably have nothing to worry about, I am sure you would have been contacted if anything was wrong, but just schedule an app with your doctor to get the results if you are worried about it. This is not the sort of info that will be given over the phone.

They have to give you results to any and all tests. Keep calling them and hounding them if you must. They are your records and you have a right to them. If he was a good doctor, he would have told you the minute he got the results. If they keep giving you the run around, contact some other doctors.

I had an HIV test done by my pcp and I had to make an office visit to get the results to the test. I guess this is due to the high confidentially laws surrounding HIV

Sorry about your predicament. Normally an HIV test takes a very short period and you should get the results at that time. Protocols dont allow you to leave without the results. This should have been told to you by the counsellor before the test, and you should have recieved post-test counseling. I think you need to find yourself another doctor for a second opinion.

The obvious answer is to call your doctor. Now.
