I had sex 2 weeks back and went for HIV test and it was negative?

Kindly let me know when can one go for the HIV test after having sex and if at all infected by HIV for the test to get the correct report.

6 months is the best time to wait. Until then if you think you may have been infected, you need to refrain from sexual activities.

I know here in Canada, the window period is 3 months, but 6 months is better.

huh? did your partner tell you they had HIV? if they didn't have it, you don't have it. you can't seriously go and get an HIV test every time you have sex. that's a very high level of paranoia. jeepers creepers.

Generally you should wait 8 weeks, thats when a virus will show up in a blood test, also you should be getting check regularly....but wait a few more weeks than go...hope everything turns out okay

If your partner has it, uh oh. I've heard it takes about six months for it to show up if it's going to, that's why it is recommended you get tested twice a year.

go back every 6 mths. the clinic should have told you this...

for a true reading you should be tested 6 months after your last sexual encounter, that includes oral! either recieving or giving. please always remember to use protection when having sex, and no sex is the only way to be sure not to get HIV.
