When should a couple take an HIV test? |
my boyfriend and i have been dating for 7 months and plan to be together for life, we've been having sex since a week after we got together, and to my knowledge, neither of us has any STDs..one day we were talking about having kids, and he randomly suggests that we take an HIV test..i'm fine with doing that, but why did this suggestion come up so sudden? i dont know what to think... You should talk to him about it. If he has been monogamous the whole time, and you have been having sex that long, I would wonder why he would decide to do this now. You should definitely talk with him about it. Depending on state laws, if marriage is in the future, it is mandatory before signing of marriage cert. Otherwise, what GOOD can come from waiting. ok well its usually a good idea to get tested b4 but sence he is willing to and you are willing to then now is a good time you're about 7 months too late. There is no specific time to under go STDs tests, any one specially who are in reproductive age can under go HIV and VDRL test. you should have done the test before any type of intercourse. if you were using condoms and now decide to go raw then you should definitely get tested before. good luck |
