Please tell me what this means....re HIV test results.? |
Went and had all blood work done. Hep b, Hep c AND HIV testing. I hadn't had it done for 2 years, so thought it time. Anyhow HEP B, C, both NEG. I look at the printout, says "negative". Dr. continues on to say HIV is NEG too. I look at the report and instead of "Negative" it says "non-reactive". I asked what that meant and the Dr. said it means Negative..Huh? I am happy that it turned out that way, but I dont understand the test. Here is what the print out says: It means negative. The way the test is run involves a little chemical reaction with the blood and if antibodies to HIV are present it will react. If antibodies to HIV are not present, it is non-reactive. It means the same thing...your blood did not react to the HIV test. Antibodies were not found. You tested negative. |
