Just about to have HIV test- am I +?

I am just about to have an HIV test which I have put off for 5 years now since having unprotected sex. I have a permanent yeasty discharge and once had a white patch on my tongue. I want to be prepared for the worst. Does this mean I may well be positive?

Your guess is as good as mine -- you could have a yeast infection. Yeast infections can occur in the mouth as well as the vagina. If you have a yeast infection, there will be some irritation along with the discharge. Go to walmart or Walgreen's and you can get some Monistat 7 to help with the yeast infection. Men can actually pass a yeast infection from one female to another. I wish you the best on your HIV test.

Honestly, I am no doctor but anyone with or without nasty symptoms are afraid to get the HIV test done. The facts are you want to know and you owe the truth to anyone that comes in your life in a sexual manner. My uncle is living with HIV and because he was diagnosed early, he is still living a very comfortable life with it. So you can be a survivor too by finding out NOW! So go take the test and hopefully your problem is something else that you can cure with a simple antibiotic but if you are positive, know that you are not alone and there are support groups out there to help you through your hard times. if you are don't be scared, a positive test dose not mean that you will die, it just means that you have to change the way you live. I have been hiv+ now for 13 years and is in good health. good luck and take care.
