Does Michigan routinely test newborns for the HIV virus? |
we may get foster kids and I do know that Michigan HIV testing is voluntary for all mothers; do newborns get an HIV test with all of the others they perform after birth? It is not standard practice in Michigan to have newborns tested for HIV. However, I am unsure what foster children are tested for before placement. Perhaps you should check with your case worker? If I were you I'd ask for one regardless. |
