Hiv test after one month? |
i had unprotected sex with a female about 5 weeks ago... The tests for HIV are about 95% accurate. However, 5 weeks may not have been enough time to wait. Last I read the antibodies for virus might not show up for as much as 2 months. So, if you have doubts, why not check again in about a month to be sure? If you visit the study of which i posted, you will learn that immunoglobulin assays (ELISA) are non specific. So how do we know if these test are true antibodies for HIV or false positives? Report It You need to make sure that in 6 months and a yr you are retested, there are known cases of fase negatives and false positives. Theyre really good from what I hear. 99.9% accurate.. or something like that Not accurate. It doesn't cover her. A test normally detects 6 months back. They now have test that goes 3 months back. So basically, you have to wait 2 months to get this done. Start using protection and you won't have to worry. If you waited for 6 weeks before testing, they are vry acurate. If it was done before the 6 weeks there is a chance that the virus will not show up when tested. If you are worried go and get retested. If this sort of thing worries you, then you should be using a condom :-) You need to get the test done a few times over the next year. Sometimes the correct results won't show up right away and it might take months before you'll register positive. That's one of the reasons why HIV is spreading so quickly. People don't think they have it when they actually do. go back in 6 months How accurate you ask? HIV testing is a big can of worms I wont open here but apparently dogs can have a positive reaction on immunoglobulin assays. Please go to www.cdc.gov for factual HIV information, vs. crackpot conspiracy nonsense that will kill innocent people. |
