i took hiv test today negative , how far did it take my exposers back thanks

to test for hiv, you test as soon as possible after exposure as possible, then at six months then at one year to be certain you have not contracted the virus.

It used to be 6 months. Three months is the new standard.

99% of people test positive within 3 months after they become infected. Almost everyone does after 6 months. In very rare cases, it can take longer.

Basically, if it has been 3 months or more since anything happened that might have caused exposure to HIV, don't worry about it, unless you have taken a lot of risk. You could get retested in another 3 months to put your mind at ease.
