HIV Test Results? |
I did an HIV test today. It came back non-reactive. But I am worried coz the test report showed that an s/co ratio was 0.53. It was non reactive since it was less than 1. But what does the number 0.53 mean? Am I seroconverting? Do I have HIV? Ok, non-reactive means no HIV was detected. If the s/co is less than one, it's pretty much "You don't have HIV". Did you know that even if this test came out positive, it would just mean that you need to get a "western blot" test to see if you have HIV? Excellent answer above. I don't have much to add, except if you are still worried, you many want to return to the doctor in 6 months to test again, depending on how long your exposure to the virus was. Of course, if you're involved in high-risk activites, you'd want to be tested regularly for the virus anyways. |
