HIV test results......?

ok I took an HIV test about a week ago and the results aren't in yet. Should I be worried??? It was a blood test taken at a clinic.

Generally - no news is good news - if the test comes out positive they will be breaking their necks trying to get in touch with you so that they can find out who you have slept with so that they can tell THOSE people to go get tested

i dont know... should you be worried???

only you know if you should be worried.

if you're talking about the time it takes for the results to come back, no you shouldn't be. Taking 2 weeks is routine.

just because you haven't heard back doesn't mean anything.

if you participate in high-risk activities, possibly be worried. good luck though!

hospitals are slow, you shouldn't worry.
unless you feel as if you might have HIV by having unprotected sex or not using sterilized needles.

GOOD LUCK! :D

They will call you one way of the other, the test doesn't take longer if it is positive. I'd be more worried if they called me immediately.

most clinics will only call if you are positive. so it may be a good thing that you havent heard.

call and ask.

Don't worry about the test results. Even if the test results are negative, you have to do it again in every 3 months. Also don't afraid of any disease. It may come and go. Face the future with courage.

what is your name?

No, sometimes it takes weeks for lab results.

YES?
If not for yourself atleast for millions of others who are worried for their lives

Alot of times it takes up to three weeks to get results, but keep calling and inquiring it doesn't hurt, good luck

First off, I think taking an "HIV" test is stupid.

Second, it is not an "HIV" test. It is an HIV antibody test.

Third, there are about 70 different conditions that could cause a false positive, including having the flu, being pregnant, or a prior pregnancy - the test is not specific to HIV antibodies.

Ask to see the package insert for the test. There will be language to the effect that "This test is not to be used for the diagnosis of AIDS."

Should you be worried? Probably not. Unless you are a crack/meth head, junkie, or gay prostitute. AIDS has never really left the original risk group despite what is said. Do you know any straight, non-drug using people with AIDS? I thought so. Some epidemic. (But I bet you know some people that had that terrible, flemy cough that has been going around for the past 2 months)
