2 Oraquick HIV tests and waiting on an Elisa Test? |
What are the odds of a false Positive Elisa test? I have already had 2 neg Rapid Blood tests? I am worried because 2 years ago I kissed someone with HIV and I had a canker sore in my mouth. Even after 2 negative Rapid blood tests some people on here are saying I am still not in the clear? Now I don't know who or what to belive. Is it that these people just don't know what the heck they are talking about? I just want an honest answer from someone who does know what they are talking about! Most rapid plasma tests like Oraquick are designed to have sensitivities of nearly 100%, meaning they will pick up HIV if it is present. Combine the info that you've had two negatives, and the fact that the oral transmission rate of HIV is very low to begin with, and you should be satisfied that when your ELISA comes back negative that you are in fact not infected. |
