HIV Test Window Period? |
What are the chances that the results from an HIV test taken a month after possible infection are accurate? I know that a test is usually the most accurate 3-6 months or even a year after possible infection. I plan on getting tested again, but I'm terrified that the results will differ from those of my first test, in which I tested negative. It takes at least 30 days (in rare cases 3 months and in even rarer cases 6 months) for the HIV virus to show up on the test. I would say test after that 30 days and again after the 6 month mark to ensure 100% accuracy. Remember, any unprotected sexual activity during that time start the timeline over if you are looking for 100% accuracy. it takes a minimum of 6 months for an HIV test to show accurately Hi, there. You have to have the second test to be sure. |
