HIV test methods?

Fortunately my HIV ELISA test is negative.I had one risky sex about 14 months ago.
i have some questions:
i did the test yesterday and got result today.in my test result paper the following sentences is written:
SERODIAGNOSTIC HIV1 and HIV2
RESULT:NEGATIVE
TEST METHOD: EIA-ACCESS-BECKMAN-COULTER and ABBOT-HIV DETERMINE
i want to know how much are these test reliable.are them quick test or they are normal.are both of them for recognizing both HIV1 and HIV2 or each of them is related to one HIV type?

Negative on the Elisa test for both 1 and 2 = HIV negative. Since this is the second time you are asking this question, I assume you are probably acquiring something else.

Its called AIDS phobia, it isn't a real disease, it simply your brains reaction to shock. Chill out, forget about HIV, stop talking about HIV, and start focusing on something else.

A negative on an ELISA is a negative, full stop, end of story.

hmmm, I think it is hard to answer you question. For me, I am living with herpes, not hiv. I know there are so many hiv people on the social site or group. I have met some great ones on http://herpesmates.com. You may post your question there and they are friendly to help you out.

At 14 months post exposure both test are have a 99.8% accuracy rate. Quick test are just as accurate as an RNA/PCR or DNA/PCR test which could take several days for the results and the results are determined by actually looking for the HIV virus in your blood vs the other tests which look for the HIV antibodies.

However, the RNA/PCR and DNA/PCR are the kings of accuracy for recent (2 weeks) exposure.

My opinion, live happy, live long and live and learn. You are negative my friend, don't sweat it...
