HIV Test.............................

HAS ANYBODY EVER TAKEN ONE? HOW DOES IT WORK?

There are now a variety of testing modalities for HIV that include blood tests and oral tests. Ultimately these tests can provide results within hours. The problem is that false negatives and false positives can also result from these tests. Ultimately a seperate, confirmatory test is often run on blood samples to limit false results.

Yes, your doctor just draws blood out of your arm as normal and then calls you with the results.

You have to have a blood test drawn and the results tell you whether you are HIV+.

Good luck.

it is a blood test

You can go to any health department and get a free test. They should also have places in your area that give anonymous tests. It is noninvasive, they just simply take a sample of your blood and do the test. The hardest part of the test is waiting for the results, it is important to be tested. The more you know the better off you are, good luck and god bless.

I have one taken every year. All they do is draw some blood from your arm. It takes just a few minutes.

You should wait at least 6 months after you think you have been infected though, because it can take anywhere from 6-12 months to show up positive on a test.

After they take the blood they send it to the lab and call you when they have the results. It's very simple!

I had an AIDS test as part of my physical to get in the military, thats routine though. its a blood test
