Is fear of contracting HIV or any other STDS enough reason for you to remain faithful to your mate?

With AIDS and other STDS going around like wildfire, wouldn't you be scared to want to be with anybody else other than your mate? Sex is the number one transmission of AIDS, and the other STDS are just as scary.

I hear of people sleeping with this person over here and that person over there, and I don't see how they could do that. Condoms don't protect 100% against diseases, only 85%. How about that other 15%...that 15% chance that you can catch something?

Besides the fact that I love my mate, my fear of contracting ANY STD is enough for me to remain faithful to my man!

Does anybody agree with me?

To reinforce: I LOVE MY MAN, FAITHFUL TO MAY MAN SINCE DAY ONE, EVEN BEFORE WE CLAIMED EACH OTHER. WOULD NOT HURT HIM OR BREAK HIS HEART. WOULD NOT CHEAT ON HIM, EVEN IF I WAS PISSED OFF AT HIM.

I never said that the fear of contracting a STD was the ONLY reason why I remain faithful...that's ONE of the reasons!

that shouldnt be ur olny reason to be faithful. Loving him should be ur reason for bring faithful

That should not be a reasson, why r u wasting theit time

girl yes im scared to death of that stuff too. i dont c y ppl cheat these days. its too many diseases going around! i like to have my one guy and thats it. no sleeping around 4 me.

Yes! To be with my g/f is the best because there is no worry about any of that. One cheap thrill for a life time of regret and pain makes me keep it in my pants.

Condom is the right word.

No. I stay with my mate because I want to. I would never insult our marriage, our love, our vows, and our commitment, It's a moral thing, a promise thing, a love thing, an honorable thing, a trust thing. Bed jumping isn't within my personality.

I totally agree with you, but you must understand that most people do not have the same moral compass you and I do~~they will do it with anyone, anywhere, and at the cost of anything, even their own life and the life of their loved one.

Most people just don't get it, but they will....no pun intended...LOL

It is sad when someone cheats and bring home a disease and then both parent have a disease. What happens to the kids when the parents die.

Also dont cheat your in love!

of its not working out then BE OPEN AND HONEST!! ABOUT WHAT IS NOT WORKING OUT! IN THE MARRIAGE!!

It is not enough to be faithful for fear of contracting STDs. Faithfulness should be the rule and not the exception and it should be because of love to your partner.

Fear of contracting HIV or any STDs is not a good enough reason for you to remain faithful. The good enough reason is that you care for this person and in no way, shape or form you would want to hurt that person. Fear of contracting HIV or other is just a selfish way of saying "I hope I never get whatever" rather than saying "I hope that any one I care for never has to encounter whatever." The true good reason to remain faithful is caring for another. To fear contracting anything you should have that feeling if you are not in a committed relationship and you are sleeping around which then you should use this feeling as a good enough reason to protect yourself.

THAT COULD BE ONE REASON BUT NOT THE MAIN REASON

I totally agree.. I love my man and would never consider cheating. Gross...std's and hiv... I have been married 10 years and we still have the spark and GREAT SEX!!!

I can honestly say I have never thought about cheating and if I did I would realize there was a problem with our relationship because people in love would never consider such a thing.
