Worried About my 5 year Old? |
This is a rather strange situation. I took my daughter to my work office where she went to the public restroom. I let her go in the stall while I was fixing my hair and when she came out her hand were wet and she was holding a small piece of feces from the toilet! She had a small hangnail type peel on her finger by her nail. the kind that happens when skin becomes dry and peels off. It was very minute and I dont recall it bleeding..not sure. I feel my mind is starting to play tricks on me thinking it was. Im very concerned if this is a mode of transmission for HIV? She has had her Hep A and B shots a little over a year ago I believe. I dont know how long the feces was in the toilet and I dont recall anyone leaving the washroom. So Im guessing at least 30 seconds in the water. I heard feces can contain blood so thats what really has me nervous. If you have a 5 year old who goes "treasure hunting" in any toilet, you have some additional problems. i think it should be okay but if you are seriously worried call your pediatrician and just ask they would know the best thing to do. Hope everything turns out okay. TAKE HER TO THE DOCTOR MAYBE THEY CAN HELP well blood and all virus die rather quickly once out of the body if it is not in a vile. IF SHE HAS HAD HER SHOTS I THINK SHE WOULD BE OK BUT WITH 3 BOYS I WOULD CALL THE DR. AND TELL THEM WHAT HAPPEN AND SEE WHAT THEY THINK. not to be sarcastic, or whatever...but don't people at your work-place know the meaning of "flush"? |
