We here so much about educating people reg AIDS and HIV; why no one think of banning kisses Amerikan way?

It is well known that HIV + persons are potential AIDS' Targets, and that they are carriers of viruses causing disorders which can be transmitted to healthy people through blood transmission, unprotected sexual intercourse, or by an infected mother to her child.
My point in advising a ban on 'lip sucking' kisses , at least, on the way they are shown in all Movies and Soap Operas is : Isn't Saliva capable of transmitting viruses of a HIV + person ? Because, like blood, urine, or semen I think saliva is equally a dangerous medium, and if it is so, why kissing on lips, particularly, lip-sucking in the American style is not banned ? I may be wrong in my assumption that saliva acts as a HIV carrier, please correct me if I am mistaken.

When we think about the risk of HIV infection through kissing, we must consider the following:

Throughout over 20 years of HIV in North America, there has been only 1 case of HIV infection through kissing. Even that case is disputed in many circles...so that should give folks an indication of the level of risk--extremely (almost non existent) low.

For HIV Transmission to occur through any activity, we look at the point of entry, quantity of the transmission fluid, and the quality of the exposure. The point of entry in this case is the mouth, which is not a welcoming environment for HIV. There are traces of HIV in the saliva, but the quantity is so negligible that it poses no risk. The quality of the possible infection is further impacted by our saliva and what happens when we ingest anything. Our body makes it very difficult for HIV to infect us through kissing.

There are some 鈥渨hat if鈥?situations. People sometimes 鈥渨hat if鈥︹€?themselves to death. When thinking about different scenarios, we should always ground ourselves in reality. There is a logic that says if the infected individual is bleeding from the mouth, and their partner has an open wound, like a sore or a cut, infection could occur. But honestly, how many of us are making out with sores or gashes in our mouths? How many of us are making out with folks who are bleeding from the mouth?

Extremely low risk!

Good way of thinking, but kissing can't be banned! They haven't banned sex! And anyway... ban kissing??? then what else is there to enjoy yourself?
