Does warm breastmilk prevent transmission of HIV to infants?

why is it advised but still not suggested?

breastmilk has antibodies (part of your immune system that helps you fight infections) but it also is one of the ways that HIV is transmitted (along with sperm, vaginal fluid and blood). If you have HIV and you live in a developed country (like the US), you should NOT breastfeed your baby. The reason they tell some people in third world countries to breastfeed their babies even though they have HIV is because without the antibodies, the baby will likely die from other infections that are in the area (like hepatitis, malaria, TB, etc.)

And whoever said that ALL babies who are born to HIV postive mothers will have HIV is COMPLETELY WRONG!!!! Some, but not all babies will have HIV if their mother did while pregnant. AND BREASTMILK IS DEFINATELY CAPABLE OF TRANSMITTING HIV!!!!! LOOK IT UP!!!!!

No one knows. However, antibodies are passed to the baby through breast milk. If it is warm, the antibodies are still functional and not destroyed by refrigeration. There is a strong possibility that it can help an infant.

No if the parent has HIV at the time of contraception the baby will be born with HIV as well but thanks the science they have pretty much eraticated HIV in newborns and NO breastmilk has nothing to do with it

are you stupid or what !!!!! of course that hiv is transmitted to babies by breast milk.....
