What are the current strategies to prevent HIV transmission in Africa? |
Thanks for the links pixy, I'm going to check them out as soon as possible in my spare time. ; ) This is incredibly sad, but one of the things that they are teaching women is to negotiate with their rapists to use condoms. Women have virtually no rights there, and rape is considered to be a woman's fault. The methods we teach here in the US (mutually monogamous relationships, condom use) isn't nearly applicable there. well, they are always sending the peace corps. and other such groups with knowledge of AIDS and condoms to Africa. Knowledge is power, and they are letting the people of Africa know what AIDS is. There are many tribes who don't even know what AIDS is. So spreading the knowledge of the virus and trying to promote safe sex. |
