How long can a child with hiv live?

How long can a child born with hiv live. I've heard with proper treatment and recently diagnosed they can live well over 40, is this fact or fiction.

I believe that to be true. We really don't know for sure since HIV/AIDS appeared only 28 years ago(seems like it was longer) and any child who has contracted HIV and is still living would be under 28 years old.

But with proper medication, people with HIV are living somewhat normal lives and they are living longer, so I'm sure it will be possible.

Depends on how strong the body is
" i dont have it that ino of. but i do no people who have died from it because they didnt take care of them selves" now my other friend found out she had it wen she had her 1st kid unfortunally her baby died at age 5 , because she was born with the full blown aids. but the mother has been living hiv possitive for about 15 yrs.

I have a very good friend that was born with HIV and she's now in her early 20's and still in good health.
