Misdiagnosis of HPV and HSV genital warts?

I have had a group of tiny grainy looking warts on the shaft of my penis. I went to my physician, and he suggested that they were warts and he wasn't sure initially as they were very tiny. However, they were always very itchy and painful. He prescribed Imiquimod (Aldara) and I took an entire course of it and didn't see any improvement. Meanwhile, I was able to get an appointment with a dermatologist and the dermatologist told me that they were HPV warts and all the genital warts are caused by one of the several strains of HPV. I described the less-than-successful treatment with Aldara. However, it was stressed that it shoudl work. Later, I was precribed Condylox gel. Although very severe and uncomfortable, the condylox gel was able to clear the warts. When I thought the warts disappeared, I had severe itchiness on my shaft and foreskin, which instantaneously turned into a group of tiny warts. Based the itchiness, pain, I feel like they warts are Herpes warts. However, my dermatologist says they are HPV warts. Furthermore, between the general physician visit and dermatologist visit, the results for my STDs like Chlamydia, Herpes, HIV came back. They were all negative except for HSV-1. I was told that HSV-1 only causes cold sores occasionally. Hence, I have ruled out HSV-2. However, now I think it could be HSV-2 and the warts I have are herpes warts. If it is true, I think I might need antivirals instead of the local treatments. Please help with any kind suggestions that you may have regarding this.
Thanks.

yes! it looks like you have warts because they reappeared at the same place! and Aldara is not the best chose!

in that case Wartrol is a good (probably the best) product that gets rid of genital warts and makes you feel more confident knowing that they wont show.
It worked for me!
I do not know if any pharmacies carry Wartrol but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here
http://www.wartrol.com/?aid=749165

They have a few months supply for free at the moment
Hope this helps

try bee propolis, ive been taking it for awhile now, and i feel great. it helps cure hpv, cancer, hepititus and other stuff. good luck!

Ok, there is no such thing are "herpes warts". You either have genital herpes or warts. It sounds like you have warts because of the way they are presenting themselves. Warts don't always go away on the first try. Sometimes you need multiple treatments.

And, the fact you tested for HSV-1 is completely normal. Most people test positive for that - almost 90% of us do. HSV-1 is normally found on the mouth, but can show up on the genitals if passed along orally.

I would go back to your doctor and tell him/her about what's been going on. Have the doctor take a closer look. My guess is your doctor will suggest another treatment. There's more than one way to treat genital warts.
