Describe treatments available for HIV/AIDS patients?

Right now what's most often used is combination treatment. The drugs vary and are changed periodically to keep them working, preventing ceiling effects and resistance. The drug regime is very expensive and must be maintained for the rest of the patients life. However, there is financial assistance and several programs for the meds now. More people have the chance to die from age now than from pneumonia. The one you hear about the most is AZT, which is supposed to reduce the amount of viruses in your body.
