Is anyone out there angry? I am.? |
I am a Human Resources manager, and I was discussing voluntary life insurance plans with a broker. It was all rosy, and he could offer my employees "guaranteed" term life insurance policies regardless of health history as long as they answered one question: "Have you ever been diagnosed with HIV/AIDS?" This made my blood boil. I wish individuals, as well as entities, would research. With today's treatment options for those with HIV/AIDS, their life expectancy is no less than someone with diabetes, etc. I would appreciate your thoughts. I am angry with HR personnel deciding I can't do my job. I am legally blind and have been since birth. I was only diagnosed when I was 45. I have worked in this job for 20 years and I am a skilled competent worker. No one else sees through my eyes. If I have been seen to be competent before diagnosis, my eyes are not degenerative, why don't they get off my case. |
