Health Information question? |
collin attorney asks dr pollie for medical records about collin's car accident and promises to provide a written autorization form collin. dr pollie gives the attorney collin's entire medicial records, including her records about her treatment of cancer and hiv. Was there any violations of hipaa privacy rule that may have occured Until the attorney actually provides written authorization, the doctor is not legally permitted to furnish ANY medical records. A properly worded authorization would ONLY allow release of records actually related to the accident. Cancer and HIV are unlikely to fall into that category. |
