Americans Emmigrating to the Phillipines.?

American moving to the Phillipines.?
Hey guys, multi-part Q here;

So I'm an American student, I have ambitions of moving from this contry to Britain in 2-3 years fter geting my degree and making preparations. I am utterly disgusted with the politics of this country and the disastrous downfall of living standards here.

I plan to move to Britain with my Mother and Brother, both US citizens. We will bring with us around 150 thousand US dollars.

I could open up a business like a restauarant (we are Christian Lebanese) or we could just get normal jobs, whatever is permited. I also speak French and Spanish and some Arabic, could be helpful for business or socialwork I suppose.

The main problem I think is that I'm HIV positive and I dont know if that impedes me from emmigrating there?

As for the HIV meds and treatment, are they free or expensive there?

Can anyone tell me please how difficult is it for Americans to emmigrate there?

First get the test done! You need to know your HIV status, I hope it turns out for the best. After that you plan accordingly. Also keep inmind that the dollar isn't what it use to be. Good luck to you and your family!

Emigration to the UK is all about change at the moment! To many emigrants, lack of housing, no work, drained NHS, crime rates rising etc etc etc........

I am an American and I lived ther for 1 year in Cebu.

Yes the HIV will be a serious issue but you may be able to get around it with a bribery or having someone else take it for you. It wont be hard there too do either.

AS far as the money well in the Philippines you could start sucessful business easily on $5,000 . You have plenty of money to even open a store in a Mall if you wanted to.
The Philippines is the Cheapest place I have ever been
For example
in 2006

Rent for 2 bedroom apartment $200
Full time live in made $30-40 a month
Full time salary retail workers $60-90 a month
Taxi ride 5 miles $3

Cheap cheap... Just remeber its a hot place and you will eed to take extra care with your immune system because of the diseases there.

Medications in the Philippines are (not) cheap at all and I dont think you will get them free there. There are many many Christian churches who give out alot of charity you may get lucky and find a church willing to help you.

It is One of the easiest countrie for American to emmigrate to.
However if you do not get married there you will need to exit the Country a few days every year. Most people go to China
since its close and cheap as welll as famous for the cheap shopping.
You must also pay abot $40 every 3 months for a renewal of your visa its a pain goingto the visa office but there are many professional agencies who do this for you and can help you much easier if you have any problems
