Will a health center aimed at helping specific race give poor treatment to people not of that race?

I just got a HIV test and the result came back negative, but i found out after I left that it was a health center for a specific race...now im thinking what if i am really positive and they just said i was negative for the **** of it cause im not of that race.

NOPE - that is not legal at all.

If they did not want to treat someone of another race - they would've made some excuse not to test you at all.

Most health depts are run by state and federal goverment so I doubt that it was specfic because of your race these places are there because not everybody has private insurance there are other non for profits agency that will do your testing if you did not feel that you were tested propery look in your local phone book or contact your social services in your area and also you can go to your local drug store ( rite-aid, walgreens. wal-mart) pharmacys and they have do it your self test that you can do yourself and mail it directly to an lab.

well just because they aim at a certain race does not mean that they gave you the wrong results, but if it makes you feel better then go to another clinic, and then remember that even if it tests negative, go back in 6 months to be rechecked, to make sure it is still negative, and if you are sexually active then go every 6 months on a regular basis

No way, BadBoy - first, a health center, as a whole, doesn't care what race you are. Most clinics that are established in inner cities or in otherwise medically underserved areas are city-, state-, and/or federally funded. By law, they can't refuse treatment based on race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. Those clinics are there as a service to provide medical care to a needy population based on geography.

Second, most HIV tests are "farmed out", meaning that they aren't performed in the clinic proper. Your blood is labeled, sometimes anonymously if you request it, and sent via courier to an outside lab. These labs, like LabCorp, Quest, and others, exist just to perform lab tests on blood, serum, urine, and other body fluids.

I'd bet the farm that your test results are accurate. Now, just don't forget to get re-checked in 6 months for that clean bill of health. Good luck.
