Do you think a cure for HIV or AIDS will be discovered by 2010?

With so many treatments available and clinical trials going on I get the feeling that we are in the right direction.

The problem with AIDs is that it requires complete gene therapy. All of the DNA that has been changed by the disease has to be fixed. That is pretty tough! It takes years just to fix one strand of DNA from cancer. The best thing they can do right now is drugs, to trick the DNA and slow down the process.

Boy I sure hope so....That would be so awesome, one of man's great triumphs.

Yes I do. In fact seems to me that I read somewhere that there is a posiible cure in the testing stages now but not 100% sure on it though.

That is only five years away, no way.
There was talk of a vaccine coming out a few years ago but that ended up giving people HIV infection. So if there is a cure in sight by 2010 then it will def not be available outside research.
