If you knew you a HIV/Aids, would you take the prescribed medicine? Why? and Why NOT?

I have run across quite a few individuals in my career that will NOT take the treatment prescribe. Even if the medicine was free.

I am 30 when i was 20 i was hit with hiv.I went on meds for a while and went off.The side effects are or can be bad. My cd4 is 800 and Vl is only 500.I just popped up detected this past may.I did take azt when i was trying to have my kids whom are perfectly fine and my husband is still negitve. The meds can do alot of damage on the inside,

I would take it in the hopes of living long enough to let them find a cure.

Yes because I care about myself to prolong my life. I am fortunately Hiv free.

I would take the prescribed medicine b/c with the new technology scientists are finding better ways to treat people who have the virus. Making sure you eat right, protecting yourself from reinfection through safe sex, and taking your medicine will increase your livelihood. If you have questions, the CDC and other Infectious disease practicioners have answers on the web.
Living in the USA, we are so fortunate to have the opportunity to have FREE and GOOD medicine available to us. Living in Africa, people didn't have the opportunity and are suffering b/c they don't have the resources we have. I would go what the doctor prescribed and also get a second opinion

I think I would I want to see my daughter grow up

Yes, i would take it because there are certain things i wish to accomplish in life that i haven't got to yet and would like to stay around a little longer to do them. however, if there were really bad side effects or something that might influence my answer.
