HIV/AIDS in India. dream govt job....?

Youth, peak years of life is the cost some Psychology and Social work professionals paid in dream of getting secure govt. job.

Most of whom was apponted after advertisement in newspaper and after performing well in the interview. Interview pannel include medical supritendent of that hospital, departmental head and other board members.

Most of the guys who are working since 2002-03 or before are competent, experienced and dedicated. They don"t leave the job not because they are incompetent but they have desire to continue working in the same set up where they have invested there peak years and adjusted there life according to job and job timing. They want to continue doing public service.

But no body care for there service and commitment, most get harrased by hospital authorities, staff of respective state aids control societes, they get rough treatment from guys who are new recruits there, some are as new as joining of 2006 and 2007.

They claim counsellors are not working with full dedication and they will monitor or evaluate there job.

I don"t understand why govt is so insensitive to these professionals and leave them as puppets who get rough hands all the time.

How can goverment ignore these are the guys working with full dedication and commitment from years, they work for remuneration which is less than what peon working in the same office or sweeper mopping the same floor draws.

Govt. of india talks about labour issues, but does it care ?

what about us, we are nowhere today. And going to court is not a solution because few guys working in prevention of tuberculosis has already loose the case on the same ground.

this dream turnout like a nightmare to us, but we don"t know where to go or what to do for self help.

As a social worker you understand about systems and organizations in particular and the nature of bureaucracies. In order to effect change in these systems you will need to address policy, power, structures and decision making. This is only possible if you are organized. You might want to look at how and to what extent you can organize and begin to place workers into the decision making process and policy process.
