How Long Can You Live With HIV These Days?

I'm watching Magic Johnson on TNT, that dude has had HIV for like 20 years! He never looks sick, just fat and bloated. I'm sure he's getting the best treatment though.

They have medication that can actually keep HIV from developing into AIDS by strengthening the immune system synthetically. People don't die from AIDS. They actually get pneumonia or strep throat or something like that and that kills them because AIDS depletes their own antibodies and keeps them from being able to fight it off. Life expectency is actually pretty long now IF you can afford the medications and the medications are very expensive.
